De Startbaan Primary School Students Enjoy Hot Vegetables as Part of Kokkerelli Study

The students of De Startbaan primary school in Velden were served a special lunch today. The school is participating in a Kokkerelli study and that is why there are hot vegetables on the menu.

The children themselves are especially positive about lunch. “It’s a kind of tomato soup, I know that,” says one of the students. “I really like it because I really like vegetables,” says another student.

Mainly positive

Kokkerelli’s research was started to see whether it is possible to get children to eat more vegetables and make them aware of their diet. Three schools in the region are participating. ‘Ultimately it would be great if we could roll out this concept at several schools,’ says director of Kokkerelli Suzanne Bisschops.

School director John Vullings did not have to think long about participating in the study. ‘I also eat it every day and so far I really like it,’ says Vullings. ‘As long as it doesn’t require any extra effort for our teachers, it’s great.’
