Danny de Munk and the woman who reported him for rape spoke behind closed doors on Thursday. That’s what the woman’s attorney, Anthony Leigh, is up to ANP let them know. It was, according to Leigh, a “very spirited and heavy conversation”.
“My client has told her story and questions have been asked and answered back and forth,” he reports. Leigh does not comment on the content of the conversation. Royce de Vries, De Munk’s lawyer, was not immediately available for comment.
De Munk said after the conversation RTL Boulevard that the conversation was “lost time”. He speaks of “a lot of negativity and a lot of pain”. The entertainment program reports that the two parties were in for seven hours.
Both parties must indicate to the court on March 30 whether they want to hear more witnesses.
The alleged victim claims to have been raped by De Munk fifteen years ago during a collaboration with the musical Ciske de Rat. She reported it last year.
De Munk says he has kissed the woman, but denies the rape allegations. The singer spoke of a false declaration and filed a counter-declaration.
In November it was announced that De Munk will not be prosecuted due to insufficient evidence. He decided to go ahead with the case he had brought to hear the alleged victim in public. The judge approved the singer’s request.
