Juventus Friday, thanks to a hit by Matthijs de Ligt with a 4-0 win over Lecce, strengthened his lead in the Serie A. Luuk de Jong again did not go further than a draw with Sevilla against Valladolid: 1-1.
Lecce already had ten men against Juventus after half an hour in a 0-0 score. Fabio Lucioni got himself into trouble and then shot down Rodrigo Betancourt. It came to the defender of the relegation candidate to a direct red.
Juventus only benefited after the break. After losing the ball in Lecce’s own half, Cristiano Ronaldo managed to serve Paulo Dybala on the edge of the penalty area. The Argentinian curled the ball beautifully in the crossing.
After an hour of play, Ronaldo made the decision. The Portuguese star player deserved a penalty kick and shot himself from eleven meters.
Juventus only ran further in the final phase. Substitute Gonzalo Higuaín scored after a heel from Ronaldo and De Ligt headed in from a cross by Douglas Costa. It was the third goal of the season for the Orange-international.
In the previous round, league-leader Juventus saw competitors spill Lazio and Internazionale points, bringing the 36th league title in sight. The team from Turin, with a game more played, is seven points ahead of Lazio.

De Jong spills points with Sevilla
In Spain, Sevilla drew for the fourth time in a row. At home against Valladolid, Luuk de Jong’s team got no further than 1-1.
De Jong only played the first half and was threatened once with a header, which was caught firmly by Valladolid goalkeeper Jordi Masip. Sevilla club top scorer Lucas Ocampos hit me with a subtle foot movement.
Valladolid took the lead brutally in the middle of the first half. At a free kick, the defense of Sevilla was surprised and the defender Kiko headed nicely: 0-1.
After halftime, a goal from Sevilla was rejected by the VAR, because Munir was narrowly offside. In the final phase, the home team received a penalty kick after a handball. Ocampos prevented a painful defeat from eleven meters: 1-1.
Sevilla remain fourth in La Liga through the draw, with a five-point lead over Getafe, which only plays against Real Sociedad on Monday.
