De Jonge: overhaul of testing policy for children | Inland

Now children up to and including six years of age do not need to be tested for complaints. Older children up to the age of twelve only need to be tested for fever and chest tightness. Concerns about the British mutation, which may be contagious to children, have overhauled testing policy.

A special test can be used for children up to 6 years old. The youngest Dutch will not get a cotton swab in their throat and nose; they just need to keep a sponge in their mouth. Expanding the testing operation has many practical consequences. De Jonge wants to work out a plan ‘as soon as possible’.
