Dutch Transportation Firms Forge strategic Alliance
In a move that strengthens their presence in the European construction sector, De Jong Transport and Bremer Transport announced a significant partnership effective January 1, 2025. bremer Transport, a subsidiary of the st. vd Brink Group since early 2023, will integrate operations with De Jong Transport, creating a more efficient and streamlined service for clients.
The collaboration involves the merging of De Jong TransportS operational planning with Bremer Transport’s. “The advantages of this are that we can use the trucks more efficiently and we have fewer empty kilometers. In addition, there will be a permanent point of contact for the customers of De Jong Transport and Bremer Transport,” explained bouke Jan and Hille de Jong, owners of De Jong Transport.
As part of the agreement, Bremer Transport will assume control of eight crane trucks and their experienced drivers from De Jong Transport. A dedicated planner from De Jong Transport will also join the Bremer Transport team. This strategic move, while not a full acquisition, significantly boosts St. vd Brink’s and Bremer Transport’s capabilities within the construction transportation market.
Importantly, the drivers from De Jong Transport will remain based in workum, ensuring continuity and minimizing disruption to their work lives. The De Jongs, however, will continue their business on a smaller scale, retaining six trucks for both self-reliant operations and contract work with Bremer Transport.
“All this enables them to find a better balance and experience less work pressure. At the same time, the collaboration between Bremer and de Jong Transport continues. In short,a win-win for both parties!”,the managements of both companies stated in a joint press release.
This partnership is expected to result in a combined fleet of approximately 80 trucks across the entire St. vd Brink Group, further solidifying their position within the competitive transportation landscape.
