De Graafschap lost on Friday evening when they visited FC Dordrecht. The match ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Super farmers.

FC Dordrecht had the first chance of the match via Leo Seydoux (save by Thijs Jansen) and also scored the first goal of the evening. Ilias Sebaoui lashed out after an individual action and curled the ball behind Jansen: 1-0. The home team could not hold on to that lead for long, as Ralf Seuntjens headed home four minutes later from a Mimoun Mahi cross. On the other side of the field, Dylan Mbayo’s shot hit the post and De Graafschap got away well. Nine minutes before half time the Super farmers a good chance of 1-2. A cross from substitute Tristan van Gilst ended up with Philip Brittijn, who set it up for Simon Colyn. His swipe ended up in the hands of Dordrecht goalkeeper Luca Plogmann.

In the 51st minute, Xandro Schenk prevented FC Dordrecht from becoming dangerous with a good defensive intervention. Shortly afterwards the home team took a 2-1 lead. Mathis Suray approached Jansen and controlled the ball with his left hand into the right corner. A curved ball from Korede Osundina then went a few meters wide of Jansen’s goal. De Graafschap went on the hunt for the equalizer and came close to doing so after a sharp cross from Levi Schoppema. Plogmann was barely able to box the ball away via an FC Dordrecht leg. In an exciting final phase, the home team threatened several times, but no more goals were scored.
