Belgium is “proud” to cooperate with Morocco, which offers “enormous” development prospects, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said Tuesday in Casablanca.
Speaking during the Morocco-Belgium economic meeting, held as part of the 3rd meeting of the High Joint Partnership Commission, Mr. De Croo highlighted “the enormous potential for cooperation between the two countries which express a growing mutual interest”, as evidenced by the intensity of exchanges between Moroccan and Belgian officials during this visit to Morocco.
In terms of cooperation potential, Mr. De Croo spoke of the importance of multidimensional cooperation, particularly cultural, academic and economic, emphasizing the friendly relations between Morocco and Belgium.
As such, the official estimated that the common challenges between Morocco and Belgium can be met under two conditions: firstly, work together and, secondly, move up a gear in cooperation in favor of more growth, innovation and investments.
For her part, the President of the Steering Committee of the FPS Foreign Affairs, Théodora Gentzis, affirmed that “Belgium considers Morocco to be much more than an economic partner”.
“Morocco and Belgium are linked by countless human ties and strong political relations within the framework of a multidimensional partnership that we wish to further strengthen,” said Ms. Gentzis in her speech. However, she estimated that “the economic potential between the two countries is not yet fully acquired”, pleading for strengthened cooperation with Morocco in response to common challenges.
Furthermore, the official said she was “impressed by the development experienced by the Kingdom, particularly in terms of infrastructure, as part of the reforms and projects carried out under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI”.
