Prime Minister Alexander De Croo wants to raise 30 million euros annually by cutting the social and tax benefits of football players. Only there is much more to be gained in these benefits, up to 200 million. Competent deputy prime ministers Vandenbroucke and Van Peteghem therefore wanted to do much more. The favorable regime for athletes is expected to be used as money in budget discussions this weekend.
