Kinshasa, September 3, 2023 – The Daring Club Motema Pembe (DCMP) won its first match of the 29th edition of the national football championship, Ligue 1, by winning 1-0 against the Aigles du Congo, Sunday September 3 at the stadium Tata Raphael.
The Immaculate opened the scoring in the 13th minute thanks to Kimwena Kisina. They then dominated the first half, but were held in check in the second half by a tightly grouped Congo Eagles defence.
This victory is a good start for the DCMP, which finished last season in 4th place. The Immaculate have shown that they are capable of beating the best teams in the championship and send a strong signal for the rest of the season.
For the Aigles du Congo, this defeat is a new disappointment. The players of Vidiye Tshimanga, who led the DCMP for more than a year, are still chasing their first victory in three matches.
With this result, the DCMP has 6 points in the standings, while the Congo Eagles have still not scored a point.
