While actors from the DC Comics Cinematic and Television Universes campaign on TikTok to announce the DC FanDome virtual convention (August 22), it’s a bit of a grimace at DC Comics. The WarnerMedia group has just laid off more than 800 people and it turns out that the Distinguished Competition is particularly affected. A third of the editorial staff have been dismissed – including editor Bob Harras, in office since 2010 -, as have the majority of employees working for DC Universe. And bad news for collectibles fans, DC Direct is also biting the dust after 22 years of dedicated service.
Regarding DC Universe, this is the last episode of a long agony that began just after the birth of the streaming platform, with the announcement of the launch of HBO Max.
