DBD in Tasikmalaya Kills 16 People

WARNAMEDIABALI – The focus of the government in handling Covid-19, apparently has made us complacent with the threat of a more dangerous plague that is Dengeu Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF).

Quoted from rri.go.id, Sunday (6/28/2020), in the City of Tasikmalaya since January – June 2020, there have been 689 dengue cases.

In his statement, Uus Supangat as Head of the City Health Office (DKK) Tasikmalaya said that of the 689 dengue cases, there were 16 people who died. DHF cases in the City of Tasikmalaya in 2020 are also higher if compared to 2019.

Although the number of DHF cases continues to increase, the City Government (Pemkot) of Tasikmalaya has not set its status to be an Extraordinary Event (KLB) and the City Government also continues to make various steps to suppress the spread of DHF.

“There are several variables that must be fulfilled to set out an outbreak. We have also taken various approaches to the community to build awareness to maintain a clean lifestyle, eradicate mosquito nests and take an epidemiological approach,” Uus said.
