The parliamentary group of “Democratic Bulgaria” will meet under the spotlight with the Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov. The official reason for the meeting on Wednesday afternoon in the parliament is related to his portfolio as Minister of Economy in the official cabinet.
The DB is interested in the actions of the state in relation to public enterprises in connection with the audit of the Court of Audit, which identified as insufficiently effective the exercise of state rights in companies with state participation in the capital for the period from January 2018 to the end of 2019. It will be discussed how the state exercises its rights in public enterprises, as well as which of them should continue to exist and how to improve their activities, explained the press center of the coalition.
Meanwhile, one of the co-chairs of the DB, Atanas Atanasov, commented on bTV that the coalition is not worried about the competition of a possible party of Kiril Petkov. Atanasov also determined the place of such a political entity.
“A project by Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev will surely stand in the shadow of Rumen Radev,” the DSB leader said. According to him, the DB did not say that they did not want to hold talks with Petkov and Vassilev about a possible joint work, but “there is no talk of an unborn Petkov.”
Atanasov commented that we should not be afraid of democracy and the emergence of a new political project that would give even more choice to Bulgarian citizens, the better. He added that if the party is behind the president, the DB has nothing to fear, because then they will be positioned more on the left.
At the same time, his coalition partners from Yes, Bulgaria, whose founders include the caretaker minister himself, have already declared several times that they see him as a supporter and expect to partner.
