With the “Deutsche Bahn” there are first classes not only in trains, but also in stations. The premium areas are called “DB Lounges”. How do you access these areas and what to pay attention to?

Not all train passengers are allowed in a DB lounge. Instead, you have to meet certain conditions to stay there.

Who can enter the DB Lounge?

You can access the DB Lounge if one of the conditions is met:

  • You have a ticket for the Long-distance travel with Deutsche Bahn in 1st class (Flexpreis fare), where the departure is less than 24 hours.
  • You are a Bahn-Bonus-Status customer.
  • You have a Bahncard 100.

Saver fare tickets are marked “No access to the DB Lounge“. Sparpreis customers are therefore not allowed in the lounge. So you can be a Bahn-Bonus participant or holder of a Bahncard 100 another person take it to the DB Lounge. Access authorization is checked at the entrance by scanning the ticket or the Bahncard or a code in the Bahn-Bonus app or by an employee.

There are DB Lounges at train stations in the following cities:

  • Berlin
  • Bremen
  • Dresden
  • Dusseldorf
  • Essen
  • Frankfurt am Main
  • Frankfurt am Main (Airport)
  • Hamburg
  • Hanover
  • Colony
  • Leipzig
  • Mannheim
  • Munich
  • Nuremberg
  • Stuttgart

There is also a premium area at the “DB Lounges” in Berlin, Munich and Cologne. Hamburg and Frankfurt Central Station. As a Bahn-Bonus customer you need the Platinum for access. The exact location of the DB Lounges at the various train stations can be found on a map on the Deutsche Bahn website.

Free food in the DB Lounge

In the lounges there is free Wi-Fi and some laptop stations. Electric devices can also be charged there at the charging stations. Here you will also find your bathrooms and toilets. Some locations also have their own bar.Hot and cold drinks as well as hot and cold dishes are available free of charge at petrol stations in the premium area.
