The anniversary had to be postponed for two years. This year, the Long Night of the Stages can take place for the tenth time next Saturday, June 11th – with many insights and outlooks.
Dance, readings, theatre, exhibitions from special perspectives are available from June 20th to 24th at the sicht:wechsel.

Art by, with and for people with disabilities
“It wasn’t easy to get ensembles from abroad, but we managed it,” says Alfred Rauch, artistic director of the sicht:wechsel festival. From June 20th to 24th, Linz will be the center for art by, with and for people with disabilities in Austria for the sixth time. International and local ensembles and artists with disabilities offer an impressive insight into their extraordinary art.
Under the festival motto “Back to the Future”, theater and dance productions, performances, readings and many projects in public space will attempt to come to terms with the past two years, which have been particularly difficult for people with disabilities. Possible visions of an equal coexistence of all should also be put up for discussion. More than 45 events invite you to marvel and pause, to participate and enjoy.

One of the highlights of the program is “A Peep Show for Cinderella” by the Italian Teatro La Ribalta, a very poetic production about desire, longing and sexuality. In “Rolling By The River”, the ensemble from Transitheart Productions rolls past the themes of mobility and agility in public space with theatrical dancing. The audience can take part in funny, intimate and surprising scenes from station to station.
A special feature is the large exhibition accompanying the festival in the Linz Castle Museum. Numerous works by people with disabilities who are creative in studios will be on display.

Strong sign of life in the cultural scene
Finally celebrating an anniversary: With well over 100 events and an average of more than 12,000 visitors, the Long Night of the Stages is one of the largest cultural events in the country. On June 11th it’s that time again.
The participating stages and cultural institutions have the opportunity to present their current productions to a broad public. In addition to the program items of the established theaters and cultural institutions, there is a wealth of new projects from the independent theater, dance, music and performance scene in Upper Austria.
The playhouse of the Landestheater on the Linzer Promenade will again serve as the central hub this year, where the info point will be set up from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. where interested parties can buy wristbands and obtain information.

For young audiences, the Long Night of the Stages begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Kuddelmuddel Children’s Cultural Center, in the State Theater, in the Theater des Kinder, in the Theater Ballet School MAESTRO and in the Anton Bruckner Private University. There is actually a lot going on there. From 2 p.m. many of the rooms are used by the students, for example with dance, singing, acting, elementary music education and early music.
Twelve Upper Austrian dance ensembles show a cross-section of their skills in the Lentos. This year, the Chamber of Labor is once again focusing on young cabaret artists, such as Manuel Thalhammer. The appearance of the Stelzhamerbund with their poetry slam in the AEC is also developing into a tradition. There are also two dance performances, the music cabaret artists Magda Leeb and Katrin Weber, the Law Busters and the final urban dance late-night battle.
A total of 124 events are shown on 30 stages with 497 participating artists – a dazzling theater festival for all of Upper Austria.
