FIFA 23 is the last FIFA game from EA Sports, after which the world association will take over itself. And its president Gianni Infantino has spectacular news.
This news was a sensation: EA Sports and the world football association FIFA will go their separate ways from autumn 2023, the current video game “FIFA 23” will be the last under this name from the Canadian manufacturer’s studios. While EA Sports announced early on that it wanted to continue and market its football simulation under the name “EA Sports FC” in the future, FIFA declared that it would launch its own product on the market from now on.
FIFA and EA Sports have been working together since 1993, revolutionizing the gaming market. Long before game consoles were invented, children, young people and adults who loved to gamble could gamble on the Game Boy or other platforms. With the introduction of the PlayStation and the Xbox, gaming spread rapidly around the world, and FIFA was always at the forefront. Although there was initially competition from Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer, FIFA has prevailed over the years, also due to the extensive licenses.
Infantino promises “always the best game”
Instead of joining forces, EA Sports and FIFA will work against each other in the future. But not much was known about the new FIFA game. But now the president of the association, Gianni Infantino, has spoken out – and promised the gaming community a premium product. “The new FIFA game – FIFA 25, 26, 27 and so on – will always be the best game for every girl and every boy. And we will have news about that soon,” said Infantino.
There are several interesting aspects in this sentence. On the one hand, FIFA is apparently planning the game in the long term, Infantino’s statement is a clear declaration of war on EA Sports. But on the other hand, the introduction will probably take some time. Because the Swiss does not speak of “FIFA 24”, which would actually be the next logical offshoot. So it seems as if EA Sports could present itself on the market next fall without any competition.
