Daylight won’t do it in winter, help it with the artificial ones

Do you know how to choose the right lighting for each room? It usually depends on the activities we practice there. Lighting has a huge influence on modeling space, creating mood, atmosphere. It is an exaggeration to say that a cozy and interesting interior works even without furniture, it is made by lighting and living green plants.

A little theory

Lux, Lumen, Kelvin? It’s good to know about it. With the advent of LED sources, consumption has been radically reduced, but light bulbs carry many new designations and abbreviations. Previously, they were mainly bought according to the value of watts, i.e. energy consumption.

  • Kelvin (K) is a unit of light temperature. It indicates to what extent the light is colored blue or red: the higher the number, the cooler the light (blue). We distinguish between warm, natural and cold light. Warm light (1700-3500 K), natural (3500-5000 K) and cold light (5000-7000 K).
  • Lumen (lm) is a unit of luminous flux. It indicates how much light the bulb emits. The higher the number, the more light.
  • Lux (lx) is a unit of light intensity. It expresses how many lumens fall on one square meter.

Light bulbs are smart, i.e. smart

Smart LED bulbs they are multifunctional, easy to operate and integrate into smart home systems. In every room, it conjures up the necessary light for the activity you are doing. Compared to ordinary LED bulbs, they have their advantages.

Convenient remote control, when you can program them to turn on, e.g. when you are away. For example, after 5 p.m., when it gets dark in winter, or just before returning home. They are controlled by a mobile application, allowing you to turn on, turn off and adjust the color and brightness of the lights.

Unlike dimmable LED bulbs, which require the installation of dimmer controls, smart bulbs do not need special accessories. Using the application, you can quickly change the brightness, color and temperature of the light, the advantage is the possibility of creating time plans.

What room, what light temperature

Where to choose cold, warm and natural light? This is the most common question for experts.

To the kitchen by the line, which is actually working, is good cold light. Supports performance, increases work safety (cutting with a knife).

Dining table on the contrary, it is a quiet place and is more suitable less intense light, which does not dazzle.

Living room it deserves, in addition to the central lamp, a lot of additional ones (wall, floor lamp for the reading corner, lamps on the dresser, etc.). They are generally preferable and will make you feel better in warmer colors.

In the bedroom avoid cold colors altogether, it is a relaxation zone. Treat yourself to practical lamps, preferably with the possibility of routing and of course with a dimmer, so that you do not disturb your sleeping partner while reading.
