Day update Corona & Week overview

Weekly overview: Total last 7 days 36911 COVID-19 infections and 645 new hospital admissions and 486 died.

Last week the number of new reports of COVID-19 for the second consecutive week decreased compared to the previous week. The current decrease in reports and hospital admissions is in in line with the calculations made by RIVM National Institute for Health and Environment prior to the measurements has made. The number of reports has decreased in all regions. The decrease in the number of positively tested persons, hospital and IC intensive care recordings from this week, however, is clearly less than the week before.

The number of people who can infect other people with the coronavirus, SARS severe acute respiratory syndrome -CoV coronavirus -2, this week has been estimated at nearly 118,000 persons (lower limit 83,000 – 150,000 upper limit). The decline in the number of COVID-19 infectious people in the Netherlands is much slower in October and November than during the first wave in March and April (Figure 1). This is clearly visible in the development of the number of infectious persons.

On March 24 there were 169,000 infectious persons in the Netherlands. That number dropped 43% in three weeks to 96,000 infectious individuals on April 14. On October 15 there were 159,000 infectious persons in the Netherlands. In the past three weeks, that number has dropped 25% to 118,000 infectious people on Nov. 5.
