Driven from the “Federal Meeting for Sovereignty” and the “Forum for the Recovery of Paraná”on this Monday morning a wide range of personalities and organizations, and the emotional presence of former Malvinas combatant soldiers from the city, were present on the steps of the propylaea of the National Flag Monument where they held a press conference. Its conveners made a public invitation, preparatory to what they defined as a “called to the national unity to guarantee sovereignty and social justice.”
From the organization they expressed doing so “on the way to November 20: ‘Day of National Sovereignty’, with the spirit of our heroes in the Paraná War.”
In a call that continues to add a long list of support and adhesions, they stated “the imperative need and urgency to defend our natural resources, our territory and our historical memory” and in clear opposition to the government of Javier Milei: “a government whose surrendering policies damage day by day and rapidly our national independence, our rights and our dignity as a people, and deepen our sufferings in a stark and inhuman way.”
In this city of Rosario, always referred to as “Cradle of the Bandera”and in the context of our emblematic National Monument, the organization expresses: “We also raise our voices to demand that the ‘votive flame’ of the National Flag Monument, which has been out for more than a year, be lit. “That fire, which symbolizes the honor and sacrifice of our heroes, must burn again, because it is a symbol of respect and recognition to those who fought for the emancipation and sovereignty of our country.”
The central activity will be on November 20th, Sovereignty Day Nationalcalling at 5:00 p.m. in the Plaza 25 de Mayo in Rosario to march to the Flag National Park: “in an act that will reaffirm our commitment to the defense of our sovereignty.”
In this activity, with a framework of complaints and proposals, a “Sovereign Sample”y “It is planned to carry out a ‘open radio’ with all the voices that are raised in defense of what is ours and are leading the fight against this policy of surrender: in the streets, in the universities, in the workplace, in the unions and in every corner of the Homeland where it is found. “It harms our sovereignty.”
179 years after Obligado’s feat, the activity on the 20th will be accompanied by a “Banderazo” that refer with a deep meaning: “we mobilize to recover our sovereignty against a government that, day after day, cedes parts of our homeland to foreign interests, permanently betraying and violating the historical legacies by which we were born as a free and independent nation and harms the memory of our ex-combatants in the Malvinas”.
Citing the phrase of General San Martín “When the country is in danger, everything is allowed, except not defending it”the organizers finally summarize the central slogans that unite them in the call:
“All for Sovereignty! “The Homeland is not sold, it is defended”
“National unity for sovereignty and social justice”
“The Malvinas are ours, the Paraná too”
“Light the votive flame now!”
