Conflict

Russian missiles hit Ukrainian energy and residential structures, causing blackouts in several areas and destroying an apartment building.

Meanwhile, the Russian occupation authorities in the city of Kherson urged civilians to evacuate.

A missile attack destroyed apartments in a block in the Ukrainian-controlled shipbuilding town of Mykolaiv.

A Russian military plane crashes into a residential building in the Siberian city of Irkutsk. Two pilots died in the crash, Russian media reported.

Russian occupation authorities in the city of Kherson said the evacuation was announced due to the tense military situation as Ukrainian troops advanced.

Russia says its forces are repelling Ukraine’s attempts to violate its line of control in the Kherson region.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia’s attacks on the infrastructure sector are large-scale.

Zelensky promised his army would improve its already good rocket launch record with the help of his partners.

Diplomacy

The G7 condemns Russia’s kidnapping of Ukrainian leaders from the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

The G7 also called on Russia to immediately return full control of the nuclear power plant to Ukraine.

Iran has strongly condemned requests from France, Germany and Britain to the United Nations to investigate allegations that Russia used Tehran-made drones to attack Ukraine.
