The Davis Cup finals between the best eight national tennis teams got underway in Malaga. And it was immediately a real challenge between Australia and the Netherlands, with the oceanic able to impose themselves in both matches in a comeback. In the first match Jordan Thompson (ATP 84) got the better of Tallon Griekspoor (96) after 2h55′ of play, beating him 4-6 7-5 6-3, while Alex De Minaur (24 ) to beat Botic van de Zandschulp, defeated by 5-7 6-3 6-4. The other quarterfinals, scheduled for tomorrow and Thursday, are Italy-United States, Germany-Canada and Croatia-Spain.
