The most sporty Latvian theater actors and comedian Jānis Skutelis will also take part in the performance, created by director Valters Sīlis and theater critic Zane Radzobe. The authors of the idea are Juris Žagars and Vilis daugiņš.
The special event is expected on August 23 at 20.00 in the sports hall “Cēsis”.

Zane Radzobe says: “Silvija Radzobe enjoyed working with the Cēsis Festival because of its atmosphere and ambition. This week, the program of the Cēsis Art Festival will also open the Theater Show Grand Prix, the program of which this year was created by Zane Radzobe. The program includes three performances – “Mother” (Daile Theater), “Finlandization” (National Theater) and “Shakespeare” (Liepaja Theater).
The film program created by the philosopher and editor-in-chief of the magazine “Rīgas Laiks” Uldis Tīrons will also continue at the festival. It invites Jacques Tati’s black-and-white comedy “Mr. Ilo’s Holidays” and Friedrich Wilhelm Murnav’s romantic drama “Sunrise: A Song of Two”.
We remind you that until August 28, within the framework of the festival, the exhibition of visual art “Sound we see. The space we hear” can be seen at the Cēsis Contemporary Art Center. Ģirts Bišs (curators: Daiga Rudzāte, Žanete Skarule), while the exhibition of the finalists’ works “Agenda” of the SEB Scholarship in Painting competition can be seen in the art gallery of the concert hall “Cēsis”. The four finalists are young painters: Madara Kvēpa, Laura Veļa, Ingrīda Ivane and Jānis Šneiders (curator Inese Rozentāla).
