Davinci Resolve released for iPad

Blackmagic Design preceded Apple, Adobe and Avid and became the first with a professional video editing app for iPad. The company launched The iPad version of Davinci Resolvea popular alternative to Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer.

Davinci Resolve is a full-featured studio program with components for cropping, color correction, applying effects, and sound editing, but the latter two aren’t yet included in the iPad version. The iPad interface has been completely adapted for the touch screen without messing around too much, so those used to the computer version will find the app quickly. A sturdy Apple Pencil holder is also promised for those who have one.

The app is free just like the desktop version, with some limitations (for example, you can’t collaborate with others and work on the same project). The Studio version, which allows collaboration, costs SEK 1,300. The app is technically compatible with many iPad models, but the developers warn that many features require an M1 chip or better.
