Davina Michelle will also be on stage in Rotterdam during the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest. The singer provides the interval act on May 18 with a song specially written for the event. Actress Thekla Reuten is also part of the performance.

Michelle wrote Sweet Water at the request of the organization, in order to be able to give shape to the theme The Power of Water.

“Almost two years ago, I was approached by the Eurovision team with the concept in which the story of water is central. Water connects, is resilient and is an inseparable part of the Netherlands. Together with Eurovision, we have worked on a unique act in which precisely these characteristics being central.”

Recordings were made for the act at the Delta Works, including with the singer herself. According to the organization, Reuten will have “a unique role” in the performance, but what it will look like exactly is not yet known.

“Thekla Reuten symbolizes the power of water. She is also one of the top in the Netherlands. There has been plenty of rehearsals in recent months and it promises to be special”, said ‘head of show’ Gerben Bakker.
