Davina Michelle gets wax figure at Madame Tussauds | NOW

Davina Michelle unveiled her likeness at Madame Tussauds Amsterdam on Wednesday. The singer is depicted sitting in a black outfit and standing in the music section of the wax museum.

The singer gets a place next to Beyoncé and opposite singer Guus Meeuwis. “Visitors can sit with Michelle in front of a piano as if they were making music with her,” the museum reports.

Davina Michelle traveled to London in October to pose for the makers. She herself contributed ideas about the performance, including the make-up, pose and clothing. She wore the outfit to a show last year.

“A Dutch singer has been missing from our music department for years and Davina fills this void perfectly with her dynamic image and colorful set”, says general manager Quinten Luykx of Madame Tussauds.

Michelle herself says that she “didn’t believe” that she was the only Dutch singer with a statue in the Amsterdam museum. “There are still an incredible number of singers in the Netherlands who deserve such an image. I thought it was bizarre to hear that Anouk didn’t have one yet, for example. But maybe this is a step in the right direction.”

In recent years, several new wax figures have been added, including by stylist Nikkie de Jager. Madame Tussauds also decided to remove some images. For example, the likenesses of Ali B and Marco Borsato have been removed from the collection because they are suspected of sexually transgressive behavior during the recording of the program.
