The final race of the series was intended only for the thirty best women in the overall standings. David started him well, she managed the first lane cleanly and ran the first from the shooting range with a lead of three seconds over the Italian Wierer and nine over the German Preuss and Norka Tandrevold.
Without the need to visit the penalty round, only nine competitors managed the introductory item, after the second lie only Džimová remained clean. David returned from the penalty round only three seconds behind her and together with Wierer they started to catch up quickly with Ukraine.
Davidová came to the stand first again, but at that moment the wind intensified so much that the Czech biathlete could get into the target with only one of five shots. Four penalty rounds meant an extra 600 meters. “The wind was so uncompromising that it was incredibly winding with Makula and the wounds were flying all around,” thought assistant coach Jiří Holubec
However, a large number of mistakes were not avoided by other competitors. Only Belarus’s Alimbekova gave the third item clean, which brought her from the thirteenth place to the podium. The last item was then a purely lottery, from which Tandrevold came out best in the end and won over a total of five penalty rounds in the massacre. “It’s an incredible point for me. The conditions were terribly difficult, but it was about staying positive when shooting and I had well-prepared skis, “Norka explained after the premium triumph in her career.
David had to circle the last item three times and thus definitely lost her chance in the top ten. “Perhaps it wasn’t even worth waiting for something on the stand, because every hit was a lot about chance. I was surprised at how well I ran, considering that the intestinal problems of Friday had barely subsided. But the skis kept me a lot on the frozen track, “admitted the Czech biathlete, who finished 11th in the final standings of the World Championships and was the third best competitor in the under-25 category after Alimbekova and Tandrevold.
