Mayor candidate Dávid Vitézy presented his program. The 101-point plan has much more in this city! gave an address. One of his most important commitments is that, if elected, he would manage Budapest with professionals instead of party members, establish the BKK police and begin the construction of five new tram lines. His candidacy for mayor is currently supported by the LMP and the Association for Budapest with Dávid Vitézy.
Dávid Vitézy, the former director of BKK, is preparing for the election as a mayoral candidate with a 101-point plan. He gave his program the title: there is much more in this city! According to the former Secretary of State for Transport, the capital has become the site of party political battles in recent years.
„Hundreds of missed opportunities surround the last five years of Gergely Karácsony’s city administration. I see that from the program he undertook, there are many more promises that he did not fulfill, or even tried, than he didDávid Vitézy said.
Dávid Vitézy, who ran as an independent with the support of the LMP, said: After the election of Gergely Karácsony, he turned the City Hall into a campaign center for the opposition prime minister candidate, where instead of city politics, everything was about national politics.

At the event held at the Fonó Music Hall in Buda, Dávid Vitézy summarized his most important commitments in 12+1 points.
The politician highlighted that developments in Budapest have stopped and slowed down in recent years, which is why the capital is increasingly lagging behind the big cities of neighboring countries. He considers it a significant problem that in a city the size of Budapest, not even ten, not even one symbolic investment is taking place. Dávid Vitézy cited as an example the construction of the City Hall park, which, despite promises, was not realized in five years. Instead, there is nothing but a gravel parking lot.
„Let’s not say that it was the European Union, or Viktor Orbán personally, who prevented the City Hall from having a park at the end of his five-year term, which was Gergely Karácsony’s most important and symbolic promise.”
Dávid Vitézy said.
Dávid Vitézy promises urban development instead of a party political battleground
The rehabilitation of Madách tér, which started in 2014 but has been left unfinished since then, must be continued.
Instead of a policy of why it can’t be, a policy of why it can be should be introduced in Budapest, declared the candidate for mayor. Aki promised in his program for the reconstruction of housing estates: among other things, the construction of 10,000 new service and rental apartments. He also wants to implement the renovation of five tram networks, the development of the bus network and the reorganization of the trolleybus network. It would also review the ad hoc traffic order established in bicycle traffic.
Vitézy added: there is a need for a safe cycling option on the Aulőa or Vác roads, the half-solution created by the city administration with the stakes, the haphazardly painted pavement markings and the potholes left behind cannot remain in this form, but for its full-scale renovation and rearrangement these road sections are needed.
After Dávid Vitézy’s campaign launch, Brenner Koloman, Jobbik’s mayoral candidate, announced on his Facebook page that he would withdraw in favor of Dávid Vitézy.
