David Segura, representative of the New Republic

The Compulsory vaccination against Covid-19 for children it was a “major outrage,” he said David Segurdeputy of the New Republic Party this afternoon in the Assembly.

The deputy criticized the lack of scientific evidence and political implications of this provision, which according to him violates the principle of protection of minors.

“For more than a year, compulsory vaccination has been imposed on children. The dominant economic and political interests in this country have had more power than reason or the denunciation of hundreds of parents who have not agreed to vaccinate their children with a product that was yet to be studied for children,” said Segura.

In this sense, and in response to the complaints of the parents, the Administrative and Civil Court of Finance ruled in favor of those who opposed the vaccination of minor children and suspended the Executive Decree on the obligation to vaccinate children.

This after assessing that a vulnerable population was forced to get a vaccine that has no health registry in Costa Rica.

“The situation that must be assessed is the existence of a potential danger for minors of pediatric age, to be vaccinated compulsorily, with a product that has not yet complied with the registration process in the country of origin, and which is awaiting studies to demonstrate the possible negative effects of inoculation, in a vulnerable population such as childhood, from such an early age, where it is possible that the possible health problems they may have have not yet been diagnosed and the possible impact on the their development, in the absence of studies”, states the resolution.
