The screenwriter and illustrator from Ourense, David Rubín is one of the creators who participates in the collective project “In your bosom”. The work brings together authors from all over Spain such as Paco Roca, Paula Bonet or Laura Pérez and seeks to raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer research through the language of comics and illustration.
Subtitled as “Something more than pink”, the work also wants to present “the severity of the disease in its many facets and the possibility of overcoming it,” say the promoters of the project. At this time, “En tu bosom” seeks to finance itself through a crowdfunding campaign through the Verkami platform.
On the campaign page they report that, in addition to remunerating the participating authors, the proceeds will help finance the printing of the book and rewards. “Once printed – the promoters continue – the proceeds from the sale of the books (after crowdfunding) will be allocated to research related to breast cancer, thanks to the collaboration of the INCLIVA institute”.
