Two current members of the Boston Bruins are one step closer to returning some equipment to their countries.
David Pastrnak helped the Czechs reach the IIHF World Championship semi-finals alongside former Bruins teammate David Krejci, while Jeremy Swayman leads the USA on the other side of the arc.

Pastrnak and Krejci both scored for the Czechs in their 4-1 quarter-final win over Germany and helped score each other’s goals while playing in the same series – something they rarely did in seven seasons as teammates with the Bruins did.

Krejci (2-8-10 from a total of eight games) is fifth in the tournament in terms of scoring, and Pastrnak, who joined the Czechs late after eliminating Boston from the Stanley Cup playoffs, is just 4-3- 7 totals over five toys. The Czech Republic meets holders Canada in the semifinals, who claim their first world title since 2010.
Swayman made 33 saves for the Americans in a 3-0 win against Switzerland – his second win of the tournament – and reached the semi-finals while Team USA substituted for hosts Finland.
The United States has won four bronze medals in the last nine tournaments, including just last spring, but has not won a gold at the World Championships since 1960.
