David Guetta has once again been named the best DJ in the world. The Frenchman stands just like last year in the top 100 of British magazine DJ Mag. That was announced tonight at the Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF) in AFAS Live in Amsterdam.
Dutch DJs Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren finished in second and third place. For Guetta, it is the third time that he has received the most votes from the public: in addition to this and last year, he also won in 2011.
The annual award ceremony took place in a modified form this year. There was room for a limited number of selected spectators and the show could be followed worldwide via a live stream. In addition to the announcement of the winners, there were performances by Van Buuren and the Dutch DJs Afrojack and Don Diablo.
