Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard has an unusually high testosterone level for his age – according to both his Swedish girlfriend and doctor.

The Brit says so in his podcast.

– Apparently I’m in the top one percent of men, he says.

Thirteen-time grand prix winner David Coulthard co-hosts the Formula For Success podcast with businessman Eddie Jordan. In one episode, the Briton was asked what the Swedish model, also Coulthard’s girlfriend, Sigrid Silversand thinks about the former driver’s testosterone levels.

– I got a brilliant report there and also a medical report, he says.

“No problem there”

Coulthard says he’s had his testosterone checked by doctors and they’ve told him his sex drive is high thanks to his time on the racetrack.

– They think it’s because of the high levels of adrenaline that I got through my career, that it loads up the testosterone in the body. So no problem there.

Takes back the statement

Coulthard has previously claimed that he drove faster if he had sex before his races. A claim that he takes back in his podcast.

– It was obviously just a bit of bullshit. I don’t remember saying it, but it sounds like something I would say just for the reaction.

Works as a commentator

Coulthard drove his last Formula 1 races in 2008. Now he lives in Monaco and works as an expert commentator for the sport.
