Jakarta – Henry Cavil no longer plays the Man of Steel for Superman like in the DCEU, but David Corenswet. This announcement has been made since 2023.
This has also been known since the DCEU era ended in 2023 through Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Then DC will return again through an era called DC Universe or DCU.
What shocked the public was that they recently learned about Superman’s personality in the DCU era or the film Superman: Legacy which is planned to be released in 2025.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rachel Brosnahan as the new character of Lois Lane in DCU praised James Gunn and all parties involved in the production of Legacy. Interestingly, after that Brosnahan revealed that the Superman character played by Corenswet would later have a sense of humor. However, Brosnahan did not reveal further what this sense of humor was like.
The public thinks that James Gunn is known as a director who almost always includes fun and humorous nuances in his films. For example, in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and The Suicide Squad. Apart from that, the character of Clark Kent in the comic version is quite humorous.
Even so, the character of Man of Steel remains different entering the David Corenswet era. Because, in the Henry Cavil era, it looked more serious in the story and characters.
Of course, this is because of the treatment from Zack Snyder as director and at the beginning of the DCEU era. Zack Snyder is known for having a dark and serious tone in his films.
