Sponsored by Artex, Artistic and Literary Promotions and its agencies Musicalia and Bis Music, this Friday at the El Tablao Cultural Center, a meeting was held with the press where several of the actions that make up the project, “The land of my loves”, whose main motivation is to celebrate during this year, the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Band by David Blanco, musician, composer, performer, producer and creator of audiovisual projects and television programs, of great popularity and appeal in Cuba.
Ángel Luis Hernández, Vice President of Artex, started this meeting, stating that accompanying David Blanco in his artistic work through the Musicalia and Bis Music Agencies, for 20 years has been a luxury for Artex.
He recalled that as early as the pandemic as March 16, 2020, the author of Evolution, made the first online concert.
In the same way, he expressed that being part of the Backstage project, and of the campaign, La tierra de mis amores, for this anniversary, was a duty that Artex enjoyed a lot, because his art, in addition to having a high aesthetic quality, possesses the quality of being suitable for all ages.
Hernández, I conclude by reaffirming on behalf of the Artex management, the importance of having this artist in full development, within the institution, that regardless of his youth, he has a vast work that makes him part of contemporary Cuban musical history.
For her part, Ela Ramos, General Manager of the record label, Bis Music, recalled David’s arrival in Bis, in 2001, trying to convince everyone, with thousands of projects to materialize and how, by counting time After that, I felt the satisfaction that the label had produced since, its first phonogram, I have to give, to the most recent, Modern Feudalism, to which is added the recording of a concert for this anniversary, recorded in the Castillo del Morro, a few years ago days.
He stated that for the Artex label team, it has been a pleasure to accompany this talented musician in each of his projects and that regardless of not being an exclusive artist of the label, his fidelity has been one of his great values. So I hoped that in the next 20 years, that alliance would continue.
Ramos took the opportunity to present a flash memory, which contributes to this celebration, with a new format, the content of which is made up of a concert by David at the Karl Marx Theater, a great hits of 24 songs in which both songs are included. of his most recent production, photos, a selection of extras that includes the programs Súmate a mi show de Bis Music and more personal moments of his interaction with the members of his band, which will serve to promote and market his work, in his presentations live.
Matilde Valdivieso, General Manager of the Artistic Representations Agency, commented to those present that David and his group gave the agency prestige. And that in times of pandemic, accompanying him in projects such as Backstage, a television program on networks, and creating an artistic program, a national and international tour with a view to the future, have been duties, pride and satisfactions.
He reported that within the celebration projects, a national tour in conjunction with the Cuban Institute of Music and the UJC has been formed for when normality begins, which includes, in addition to Artex cultural centers, concerts in important stages and public squares, as well as in disadvantaged municipalities. This tour must conclude at the University of Havana Staircase.
He also added that an international tour planned for the Spanish market will be resumed, as soon as the opening conditions are met; and thanked David for his love for Cuba.
For his part, the protagonist of this meeting, felt honored by so many accolades and claimed to be the result of Cuban artistic teaching.
He shared with all his feelings of euphoria and gratitude to Artex for accompanying him in the face of the pandemic and understanding him in this new stage, where he had to reinvent the way of offering his art. This is precisely the origin of the Project La tierra de mis amores, which includes part of the actions mentioned by each of those who preceded it.
He commented that he was surprised when he performed the first online concert and counted 16,000 people present in real time. That is why he began to use this new way, and Backstage, a network television program, emerged.
He took the opportunity to announce that this program will be broadcast on Cuban television and that he is already beginning to work as a director in a second season in which he will have the presence of Alaín Pérez, Isis Flores, Athanay, Ernesto Blanco and among the Backstage on Wheels, will talk about the Danzón, from the film dedicated to Benny Moré.
In the same way, he thanked his team and the designers Gabi Pérez and Víctor as well as Laura Bastillero’s photography for the graphic result of the flash, to Ruedas Producciones for accompanying him in concerts, to Alejandro Pérez for making the video Yo soy el Punto Cubano, a theme that has accompanied Cuba in this strong stage.
In this meeting, which was also attended by Eladio Marrero President of Artex and Indira Fajardo, President of the Cuban Institute of Music, David Blanco also outlined the immediate projects to be carried out, as part of La Tierra de mis amores, in which includes the DB brand (David Blanco) and a line of youth clothing under the name, Punto cu in which he shows several design ideas created by him and that in a first stage, will present classic suits, guayaberas, shirts, thanks to the alliance of Artex with the Confecciones Model Company, which will be marketed in the Artex network of stores throughout the country.
Finally, he claimed to have realized one of his dreams for his 20th anniversary, which was to record a concert in El Morro, starting at 6 in the morning because he wanted to show the world his country, the testimony of the beautiful images of sunrise. In the Habana.
This concert, he assured, was done with the intention that young people continue to love Cuba, that after the pandemic they continue to stay, so that youth continue to love Cuban music, rumba, son, cha-cha, which he fuses with rock, without losing the roots, leaving them a message of optimism and confirming that all of this starts from his love for Cuba.
After responding to the journalists’ questions, he concluded by stating that he will continue working to develop and publicize Cuban music and its culture, in and from Cuba, to international stages and thanked everyone for their collaboration in the realization and promotion of his work during these 20 years.
