The next school chancellor, David Banks, has promised big changes for the city’s schools.
Banks discussed gifted and talented programs in elementary schools; and promised that under his management, he will seek to expand opportunities for these students.
He also indicated that one of his main priorities will be the construction of quality schools so that parents do not have to look for options in other neighborhoods.
The official also wants to ensure better integration within those schools.
Banks is a longtime educator who has worked in the school system for more than three decades.
