“Continents are on fire, glaciers are melting, coral reefs are dying, fish are disappearing from our oceans, and the list goes on,” said Attenborough. “But we know what to do about it and that’s why I’m going to use this new way of communication.”
He wants to inform his followers about climate change and explain in videos what they can do about it. Filmmakers Colin Butfield and Jonnie Hughes, who is the upcoming Netflix documentary David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet posted messages on his Instagram account on his behalf.
Longest career
By the way, Attenborough has another record to his name, namely that of longest career as a TV biologist and broadcaster. The Briton made his BBC debut with the children’s series in 1953 Animals in Disguises.
