Martha Iss in an ambitious film plays the Czech sports legend Dana Zátopková, who went to see her husband Emil Zátopek in March last year. For eXtra.cz, she described how she got used to the role. “Playing a real person was harder at first, but over time it didn’t really matter if I played a fictional or a real character,” says experienced actress Iss.
“Intensive preparation took a year and a half. The three of us with Vašek (Emil Zátopek’s representative Václav Neužil, editor’s note) and David (director and screenwriter David Ondříček, editor’s note) got a deeper dimension of friendship in the case of Vašek and the two of us. “David’s love. When it comes to sports training, I had a hard time there, but I think overcoming obstacles is great for a person,” Martha added.
