Dave Roelvink: Return from Rehab and Commitment to Self-Improvement

Dave Roelvink is still getting used to it now that he is back in the Netherlands, after six weeks in a rehab clinic in South Africa. “I’m happy to be back, but there is real work to be done.”

The fact that 29-year-old Roelvink has returned from South Africa does not mean that he is no longer working on himself. “I am now following a kind of lighter trajectory in the Netherlands. So I will continue, but in the Netherlands with my family,” he says in front of the camera of RTL Boulevard. “The clinic gives you the tools. When you get back, you have to do it yourself.”

Roelvink had previously kicked a drug addiction. The eldest son of singer Dries Roelvink was “super disappointed” in himself that he had a relapse. “Then you think: how could it happen to you? You have a beautiful two-year-old boy sitting on the couch. Why do you choose that rubbish? If you make those kinds of decisions in life, then you can either deal with it continue or you look at yourself in the mirror and do something about it. I did the latter.”

Roelvink works as a DJ in the nightlife. “It would be wise to leave the nightlife completely. But I am not someone who has been performing for years and has earned his living. I also just have to work. So I am looking at how I can organize it, to make it as safe as possible. possible for myself. But of course I also have a family, house and a car.”
