Dave Gilmour can’t sell his London house

During the last years the musician Dave Gilmour, Pink Floyd guitarist and songwriter, has tried to sell his East Sussex mansionEngland, and during the process has encountered several problems.

According to ‘MailOnline’, The musician found out that the property does not belong to him but to the British crown, so selling the place is basically impossible.

It has also been reported that Gilmour had to sue the government. The same media contacted experts on the subject to clarify the situation. Nick Brett of Brett Wilson LLP said: “Imagine thinking that you have owned a house for over a decade, particularly one worth between £10 and £15 million pounds, but then when you want to sell it you discover that you can’t because, in fact, technically legal ownership may have passed to the State.”

Apparently this is what is happening, well GIlmour purchased this property in 2011 through the company Hoveco Ltd. However, when The company was dissolved and was not responsible for transferring the property.. It is said that in the laws of the United Kingdom it is clear that if the assets of a company are not transferred before it is dissolved, these assets become the crown’s.

Now, The guitarist and composer will have to wait to see how this whole situation is resolved legally.. The residence was last on the market in September of last year, when offered only part of the property for $12.3 million dollars.

At the time it was said that The intention was to keep the studio on the property which was designed and built especially for him. At the moment Gilmour has not made any statements on the subject.
