Dauphiné Criterium Stage 6: Mountainous and Demanding with Jonas Vingegaard Leading the Pack

The sixth stage of the Dauphiné Criterium is more mountainous and more demanding. The race enters its decisive phase, although it is clear that by now no one can doubt that the strongest man in the entire peloton is called Jonas and his last name is Vingegaard. The rivals, at least, have to start thinking about the podium… and looking for stages, since Jumbo-Visma is also accumulating victories and more victories.

He Criterium del Dauphiné presents in the sixth stage a day of 170.2 kilometers. The output will be in Nantua and the goal will be in Crest-Voland. The most interesting thing about the day is that the climbs are all concentrated in the final part. Specifically, cyclists must ascend the Col des Aravis, with 7.7 kilometers at a 6% average slope. And after a slight descent there will be two other climbs: Coast of Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombewith 3.2 kilometers at 6.4%, and Crest-Voland, with 2.4 kilometers at 7%. The finish line is installed at the top of the last port.

Most likely we will see a day with two races in one, with riders fighting for the stage win and the GC strongmen eyeing Jonas Vingegaard’s legs. As his rivals have recognized, andl of Jumbo-Visma is now on another level and that can put a brake on the show.
