Be confronted
According to the prosecution, Brenda Powell had found out that her daughter had been secretly kicked out of the university.
She confronted her about this, and then it hit.
According to the verdict, Sydney attacked with the frying pan, then retrieved a steak knife and stabbed the mother 30 times in the throat.
– Sydney stopped attacking with the frying pan, and probably went to the kitchen to get a knife. She had to switch weapons, and continued to attack her, Assistant Prosecutor Brian Stano said in court.
– Knife in the throat, many times? It’s on purpose. Someone is trying to kill someone, he continued.

Not mentally ill
The three psychologists Sydney Powell’s defense team had hired tried to argue that she was psychotic at the time of the crime.
The prosecution’s psychologist, Sylvia O’Bradovich, argued that Sydney Powell was sane when she attacked her mother.
The jury agreed, and on Wednesday convicted her of both the murder and tampering with the evidence.
The sentencing will take place on 28 December.
Sydney Powell, who is now 23 years old, faces life in prison for the murder. She also faces 15 years in prison for tampering with evidence.
Her defenders have not yet commented on the verdict to the American media.
