The daughter of Nienke Plas has to have heart surgery again. Nine-month-old Harley also underwent heart surgery in January. She was born with a heart defect.
“We went to the hospital for a check-up. A normal check-up, as they have taken place every two months in recent times,” the YouTuber writes Instagram.
The cardiologist told her it would be wise to have Harley operate before the winter. “My relaxed attitude had to give way to a wave of slight panic and tension that I recognized from last time,” Plas recalls.
“I knew this was coming and was mentally preparing myself for it. And yet, when these words are spoken, it comes in like a door slamming open from the high wind.”
According to Plas, her daughter was “carved from the wood of two soldiers”. “Just like her brother. Her heart will be nicely patched up and Harley will go in and out like a warrior, just like last time.”
