From July 23rd, Lea Wagner (26) and Tobias Schäfer (41) will present the new Friday edition of the TV classic on the specialty broadcaster One. This was confirmed by WDR sports director Steffen Simon.
The offshoot of the “Sportschau” will show summaries of the 2nd Bundesliga from 10.30 p.m. at the start of the 2021/22 season.
Wagner comes from the WDR and will also host the ski jumping broadcasts in the first from the next winter sports season. What many do not know: She is the daughter of ex-Schalke coach David Wagner (49).

Schäfer already works for the WDR as a radio presenter as well as in the ARD morning magazine. Most recently he did a daily podcast together with Christian Schulze during the European Football Championship.
When the German Football League sold the media rights in the summer of last year, ARD secured the corresponding rights package. This includes second division highlights on Friday between 10.30pm and midnight and on Sunday between 6.45pm and 9.15pm. In addition, as before, the ARD is allowed to show pictures from the 2nd division in the “Sportschau” on Saturday in addition to the 1st division.
