It was a bit of a shock for Linde Merckpoel (36) last weekend. The three-month-old daughter of the One Face ended up in hospital one night with breathlessness. It turned out to be false croup, in the meantime the girl is on the better side.

“Night in hospital here. No worries, Cleo just wanted some aerosols for the first time last minute ”, Merckpoel writes on Instagram with a photo of a monitor. “A bit unpleasant, your baby with panicky eyes in breathlessness, but in the meantime she is sleeping like a little marmot. Classic Cleo. ” In the meantime, things are going fine, “even though it still sounds a bit like a simmering coffee maker”.
The event makes Merckpoel realize that being a mama does something strange to you. “It changes me at times into everything that I would not and did not want to become. I saw my friends do it and I thought oh my god i will never be like that! A soft heap of over-anxious paranoia, googling symptoms in the middle of the night, getting nervous with a cough, she has a fever, maybe measure the temperature again. I did it all tonight. ” After which she apologizes: “Sorry I didn’t get it all these years.”
