Gwendlyn regularly watches the episodes of on her YouTube channel Sister Wives back and in her most recent video, Kody takes a beating. In the episode it can be seen that Kody does not treat his then-wife Meri very nice. Meri says her strength lies in the fact that she will wait for Kody to give their romantic relationship another chance. When Kody appears alone in front of the camera a little later, he appears to be very different. He indicates that he no longer sees himself and Meri as a married couple and that he doesn’t care if she gets into a new relationship.
Gwendlyn can’t hide her frustration after watching this scene. “He’s just stringing her along!” she exclaims. “It’s really sad to see my dad claim that his relationship with Meri is already over, when she doesn’t know it at all. They haven’t had a conversation about it at all. I think that’s why it’s so important that my mom is clear to him and said she was done with him. She said that to his face, something Kody would never do.”
And Gwendlyn isn’t done with Kody yet. “I find it incredibly manipulative, because he is actually holding her captive in a loveless relationship. He gives her false hope and promises that everything will be all right again.” Gwendlyn doesn’t understand this at all. “What’s the point of staying with all those women? Does he see them as trophy wives or something? Or does he think they’re going to make him go to heaven? I don’t understand why he wants to be with them to stay.”
Kody has now divorced all his sister wives, except Robyn. Gwendlyn is immensely relieved that the other women have chosen to pack their bags. “I’m glad they got out of this situation.”
