The mother of three, Mirsada Muric (26) in Tennessee in the USA, encourages people to take covid-19 seriously, after her nine-year-old corona-infected daughter ended up in hospital.
The daughter, named Blair, is now fighting for her life after contracting the virus and needing a respirator to help her breathe.
Muric has spent the last couple of weeks at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital with his daughter Blair, where she has posted various updates from her Facebook profile.
In the posts, she shows pictures of her daughter who is fighting for her life, to show as many people as possible that the situation is serious. Muric clearly expresses frustration, as she feels many people do not take the virus seriously.
– Feeling angry
– Today has been a day where I just feel angry. I want to share this picture, because as I sit here praying and crying that my loved one is getting better, I still see people complaining about rules about face masks. They still believe that covid is a joke and not so serious, Muric writes in the post, before she continues:
– Look at my baby. This is why people are scared. This is why people ask you to wear a mask. Who do you hurt by wearing it? What rights do you lose? While I’m sitting here watching my daughter breathe using a machine, you’re out alive.
The post was shared on July 31 (see below).
Several tragedies
According to NBC News The Muric family has had a difficult time in the past year, when Blair was diagnosed with a brain tumor in February. Fortunately, the 9-year-old had the tumor removed, and the operation was successful.
“Should have taken the damn vaccine”
But in July, her father died unexpectedly. Muric believes her daughter contracted the coronavirus at a memorial service recently held for her father.
Two days after Blair was diagnosed with the virus, she also tested positive for RSV or respiratory syncytial virus, which put her at high risk for serious illness, and therefore she was sent to the intensive care unit.
