The Dutch actress and presenter Katja Schuurman has little difficulty in talking about her sex life during interviews. However, that is against the wishes of her 11-year-old daughter, says Schuurman. “I get it.”
The openness of Schuurman is not always appreciated by the presenter. Her own daughter, for example, finds it very difficult that her mother talks about sex in the media. “And I get that too,” says Katja in Smokey Sessions, the YouTube show of men’s magazine FHM. “My father and some other people hate that too, by the way. I’m just very open and I’m actually embarrassed for very little.”
According to Schuurman, she rarely brings up the subject herself, but she is asked about it. “At one point I put together a beautiful anthology with all kinds of erotic poems and stories. I wrote a foreword for that, which I found very witty myself. I was very explicit about that,” she explains those questions. “I hadn’t assumed that this would be referenced in interviews all the time.” ()
