The campaign of influenza vaccination 2021-2022, will start the next November 3 and it will involve the application of 32 million 328 thousand 200 doses, reported the Ministry of Health.
In a statement, the federal agency said that “given the low incidence of influenza in the last year,” the application will take place a month later, since it usually began in October.

He added that the distribution of the doses will begin in the second half of October, “to reach the most remote places in the country and formally start at the scheduled time.”
The target population for seasonal influenza vaccination will be:
- Girls and boys from six to 59 months
- Older adults
- Pregnant women
- Health personnel
- People who live with risk factors for complications in the event of infection
The 2021-2022 flu season in the Northern Hemisphere spans week 40 from 2021 to week 20 of 2022.
During this season, an increase in the number of cases of this disease is generally expected, with its maximum peak of infections during the months of January and February ”.
The Ministry of Health pointed out that so far, in Mexico the behavior of influenza is in parameters below the usual thanks to the sanitary measures implemented against covid-19, which considers hand washing, use of face masks and healthy distance.
