About the Career

We at Novartis Biomedical Research are seeking early creative talent to join our mission in developing new treatments for chronic and acute kidney diseases, among others.

The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge data science, modeling complex data to drive early drug discovery and development. You will join a global community skilled in data analysis, machine learning, and experimental techniques to test biomedical hypotheses.

Preferred start date : February 2025

Last start date : March 2025

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a core team of Translational Research and Data Science scientists fluent in wet and dry lab practices.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams to model biology and drive influential decisions in drug discovery and early development.
  • Perform integrated analyzes of biological, genomic, proteomic, and clinical data using statistical and machine learning techniques to support new drug discovery and biomarker discovery.
  • Present results, images and general progress to project teams ensuring clear communication of complex data.

Prerequisites:

  • Recently completed BSc/MSc in life sciences with experience in biomedical research data modeling
  • Working knowledge and experience in applying statistics and data modeling to large scale life sciences data.
  • Knowledge and/or expertise in analyzing and integrating multiple omics databases (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) to address key scientific questions related to disease understanding.
  • Proficient in R/Python, with experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Skilled in reproducible research, data visualization, and reporting.
  • A practical, team-based approach to problem solving.
