“Data Protection Conference Urges Senate and Parliament to Deactivate Facebook Pages”

Data protectionists have asked the Senate and Parliament to deactivate their Facebook pages. These violate applicable law. This emerges from a report by the data protection conference of the top German data protection officers. They had set up a “Facebook Taskforce”. The criticizes that the US group collects data every time the Facebook page is visited in order to use it for advertising. The Senate and Parliament initially want to await proceedings by the Federal Data Protection Commissioner on this subject against the Federal Government.
