Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Recently there was an alleged leak of personal data belonging to 279 million Indonesians. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said it was conducting an investigation into the alleged case.
“The Ministry of Communication and Information is conducting an investigation into the alleged data leakage,” said Ministry of Communication and Information spokesman, Dedy Permadi to CNBC Indonesia, Thursday (20/5/2021).
This news comes from uploads of Twitter accounts @ndagels and @nuicemedia which were uploaded this Thursday. Also uploaded a screenshot is the name of the data seller, Kotz.
In it there is data on the National Identity Number (NIK), Identity Card (KTP), cellphone number), name, email and address. However, there is no password data in the data leak.
Hackers also provided free samples of 1 million Indonesians. This is to prove the truth of the data being sold.
The perpetrator also included a contact address on the Telegram platform, namely kotz1234567. The sample has been uploaded to the sharing page, namely filebayfiles, anonfiles, and mega.nz.
Warganet also voiced his opinion on the incident. There are those who say they suspect the data comes from BPJS Kesehatan.
To CNBC Indonesia, Head of Public Relations of BPJS Iqbal Anas Ma’ruf said that his party was conducting further investigations. This is to ascertain whether the data referred to is correct from BPJS Kesehatan or not.
Currently he said that his party had deployed a special team to track him down.
“We have directed a special team to trace and find the source as soon as possible,” he said.
However, he added, BPJS Kesehatan continuously ensures the safety of participant data. It has a strict and layered data security system to ensure the confidentiality of the data.
“However, we need to emphasize that BPJS Kesehatan consistently ensures that the data security of BPJS Kesehatan participants is protected as well as possible. With complex big data stored on our servers, we have a strict and layered data security system as an effort to ensure the confidentiality of such data, including data.
